Last updated: October 11, 2025
1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing, accessing, or using Assignmate AI (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Who We Are
Assignmate AI (“Assignmate”, “we”, “us”, “our”) provides a Chrome/Edge browser extension and website that help users generate context-aware answers and rephrased text from user-supplied content (e.g., selected text or uploaded files).
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (and, where required by law, at least 16 with parental/guardian consent) to use the Service. You represent that you have the authority to accept these Terms.
4. Account & Access
- Authentication. You may sign in with Google SSO. You are responsible for safeguarding your account and for all activity under it.
- Permitted installations. You may install the extension on devices you own or control, consistent with your plan limits.
- Security. Do not share credentials or tokens. Notify us promptly of unauthorized use.
5. Acceptable Use & Academic Integrity
-
Use responsibly. The Service is an assistive learning tool. You are solely responsible for how you use outputs, including verifying accuracy and following your institution’s academic integrity policies.
-
Prohibited uses. You will not:
- Use the Service to cheat, bypass proctoring, or violate academic or testing rules.
- Attempt to circumvent usage limits, paywalls, rate-limits, or security controls.
- Access or collect data from websites or services in violation of their terms.
- Use automated/bulk scripts that burden or abuse the Service.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive source code (except to the extent such restrictions are prohibited by law).
-
Browser permissions. The extension requests the minimal permissions needed to deliver user-initiated features (e.g., reading selected text or handling user-uploaded files). We do not collect unrelated web-browsing activity.
6. Content & AI Outputs
- Your Content. You retain ownership of text selections, prompts, uploads, and other material you provide (“User Content”). You grant Assignmate a worldwide, non-exclusive license to process Your Content solely to provide and improve the Service (including abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and analytics as described in the Privacy Policy).
- Outputs. AI-generated outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. Use discretion and verify important information. Assignmate does not guarantee factual correctness, suitability, or compliance with third-party rules.
- Third-party providers. We use third-party model providers and infrastructure to process inputs/outputs. Use of the Service constitutes authorization for such processing.
7. Plans, Billing & Merchant of Record
- Plans. We offer free and paid subscriptions with stated limits and features. We may modify plan features, limits, and pricing prospectively.
- Auto-renewal. Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before renewal.
- Merchant of Record (MoR). We may use a third-party Merchant of Record to process payments and tax/VAT (the “Payments Provider”). The Payments Provider may appear as the seller on your receipt and will handle billing information under its own terms and privacy notices.
- Refunds. Unless otherwise stated, we provide a 7-day refund window for first-time purchases. After 7 days, refunds are not guaranteed. In some cases, the Payments Provider may issue refunds or adjustments under its policies.
- Taxes. Prices may exclude applicable taxes. Taxes and fees (including FX) may be collected by the Payments Provider at checkout.
8. Fair Use; Rate Limits
We may apply technical and organizational measures (e.g., quotas, concurrency limits, model routing) to protect the Service and ensure fair use. We may modify or throttle usage that negatively impacts reliability or violates these Terms.
9. Intellectual Property
The Service, including software, documentation, branding, and associated IP, is owned by Assignmate or its licensors and protected by applicable laws. Except for rights expressly granted to you, no licenses are granted by implication or otherwise.
10. Feedback
If you submit feedback or suggestions, you grant Assignmate a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use and exploit that feedback for any purpose without obligation to you.
11. Privacy
Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect and how we use it. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and processing described there.
12. Third-Party Services & Links
The Service may interoperate with or link to third-party services (e.g., AI model providers, cloud hosting, file storage, payment processors). We are not responsible for third-party services, which are governed by their own terms and policies.
13. Beta & Experimental Features
We may offer experimental or beta features that are provided “as is,” may be unavailable or inaccurate, and can be changed or discontinued at any time. Beta features may be subject to additional terms.
14. Disclaimers
